not like the fairy tale….

27 11 2006

It’s not quite the fairy tale little girls are spoon fed from birth. No-one ever waggled their wand and cast a spell to ensure entrepreneurial flare and success in business in the books I read growing up, and neither are they now. Having decided in my teenage years, to take fancy with Robert’s Frost poem The Road not Taken, I would never lament on the opportunities that I am faced with now as a young thirty something. But I do gripe with the fact the the road less traveled by can be a lonely one when the case in hand is a young female who is ‘having businesses’ while her friends are ‘having babies’.

And so I embark on sharing my adventures or should I say ventures, as they gather pace and hopefully take flight. Every step I have taken throughout my adult life has given me the skills and knowledge to get me to where I am placed now and the journey promises to be an exciting one. I love to work, so don’t know that ‘hard work’ is what it takes, more like a passion for improvement and working smarter, a vision for my culture and my ethics to be something other than a unsaid thought drifting off in my head.
